Most people go to a yoga class to get a little exercise in hopes of feeling and looking better. A great sage has said if they aren’t spending time in your yoga class talking about how and why you are getting old, sick and dying then you should find a new yoga teacher.
A complete Yoga practice has eight limbs – in Sanskrit asta (eight) + anga (limbs) = astAnga
Asana is the limb related to the postures and is what most people think of when they hear the word Yoga. They are only a small part of a complete Yoga practice. In fact, there is only one verse in the entire Yoga Sutra that mentions the word asana.
The Whole Enchilada means studying and practicing all eight limbs.
